Tender Loving Christmas (TLC) Director Mara Cantelo is seeking salad sponsors for the TLC Christmas Day event, to be held from 12:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center. Each year, 5,000 pounds of 22 different salads are hand-made, at a cost of $1 per pound. The organization needs 22 salad sponsors at a sponsorship level of $250 per salad. The TLC mailing address is PO Box 895, Yucca Valley, CA. 92286 “These salads are a highlight of our TLC buffet,” said Mara Cantelo. “Many tell us that these salads are tasty, and unique in color and texture. This year, more than ever, we need folks in our community to get involved by sponsoring and or making a salad. Each salad requires up to six persons to assemble. We need as much help as we can get.”
Cantelo is also asking local churches, organizations and individuals to help at a salad-making party at the Yucca Valley Community Center at noon on December 23. Now in its 31st year, TLC provides a full Christmas Day banquet for all those in need, or who find themselves alone on the holiday.
