Sheriff’s deputies are searching for the thieves who stole the tires off of a vehicle that broke down last week in Twentynine Palms. Just after midnight on Monday morning, a white Chevy Cruz broke down on Two Mile Road near Lear Avenue. The owner of the car left the car parked on the side of the road and had a friend pick him up. A witness called Sheriff’s deputies about the car on Thursday morning to report that all four tires had been removed. The car’s owner said the car still had all the tires when he left it. He estimated his loss at more than $1,000. If anyone has information about the tire theft, call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
