Tire Store Employees Chase Suspected DUI Driver After Parking Lot Collision

A woman who is alleged to have crashed her vehicle into two cars at a Yucca Valley tire shop was arrested for suspicion of DUI after being followed by the shop’s employees. Yesterday (November 29) at around 12:30 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies received call saying that a woman pulled her car into Fred’s Tire’s, located at 55666 Yucca Trail, in Yucca Valley.

The suspect collided with one parked vehicle, which was pushed into another vehicle, and then the suspect drove off. Employees of the tire shop attempted to follow the driver, but the car was moving to erratically to safely follow. With the assistance of the tire store employees, Deputies were able to identify the driver as Rachel Stevens, and located her near Palm Ave. Rachel Stevens was taken to High Desert Medical Center, where she was jail checked, and a warrant was authorized for her blood to be drawn and tested.
