Z107.7 announces the annual holiday decorating contest, a tradition that sees Morongo Basin businesses enter a friendly competition to bring out the holiday spirit. Up to eight businesses will win quality advertising and promotion worth hundreds, a cool certificate, and bragging rights. It’s a great way to kindle holiday spirit and jumpstart local shopping. The contest is free to enter, and the rules are simple. Awards go to first and second place winners for best interior and exterior in large- and small-space categories. Judges will rate entries on “Overall Theme, Inventiveness and Appeal,” “Use of Space, Lights and Color,” and “Wow Factor.” Painted windows do not qualify. First place winners receive a $250 ad package and a month’s presence on www.z1077fm.com, now viewed more than 200,000 times monthly. Judging is on a 10-point scale for five criteria:
“Overall Appeal,” “Use of Space,” “Use of Lights & Color,” “Inventiveness & Overall Theme,” and “Wow Factor.”
Painted windows do not qualify for this contest.
Judging will be done in 4 categories:
SMALL BUSINESS (up to 1,500 square feet)
Best Interior
Best Exterior
LARGE BUSINESS (1,500 square feet or over)
Best Interior
Best Exterior
Awards will be given for first- and second-place entrees in all four categories. The judging is done on artistic merit; the decision of the judges is final.
First place winners receive $250 in radio advertising from Z107.7 Radio and website presence for a month on www.z1077fm.com, now viewed over 200,000 times per month!
Second place winners receive $150 in radio advertising from Z107.7 Radio and two weeks on www.z1077fm.com. Some restrictions apply; see * below.

Entries must be located in the “Morongo Basin,” defined as from Morongo Valley to the west, Wonder Valley to the east, north to Johnson Valley, and south to the border of Joshua Tree National Park.
