A three-vehicle crash in Yucca Valley Wednesday morning sent a pregnant woman to the hospital with complaints of pain. Sheriff’s Sergeant Rick Millard, said a semi-truck hauling clean sand was traveling southbound on Old Woman Springs Road, just north of Buena Vista Drive, about 10:20 a.m. when a car driven by Kimberly DeCastro pulled out of a driveway in front of the truck. Although the truck driver swerved to avoid DeCastro’s car, he still hit it, causing the trailer to overturn onto the east side of the road and dumping the clean sand into the desert. Another car driven northbound on Old Woman Springs by Sergio Leyva collided with the trailer as it was swerving. The only injury reported was by the pregnant DeCastro, who complained of pain to her arms and legs. She was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment.
