Three Twentynine Palms men were arrested in the early morning hours of Thursday following vandalism to a vehicle earlier in the night. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman in the 2700 block of Canyon Road called 911 at 11:11 Wednesday night to report that two men had banged on her door, dented her Ford Focus, and slashed her tires. She said the men then got into a dark Volkswagen and left the scene. She recognized one of the men as her ex-boyfriend, Ryan Cooley, 21. Deputies located the Volkswagen in the Himalaya Plaza parking lot about 1:20 a.m. Thursday morning. Inside the car were Cooley, Paul Minigh, 19, and Erick Ward, 19. They all denied being at the woman’s home or damaging her vehicle. However, evidence from the crime scene implicated the three men, who were all arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism. Ryan Cooley, Paul Minigh, and Erick Ward were booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with their bail set at $25,000 each.
