THREE SUSPICIOUS FIRES IN YUCCA VALLEY SUNDAY

The San Bernardino County Fire Department has asked the Sheriff’s Department to investigate three suspicious vegetation fires in Yucca Valley. County Fire Battalion Chief Donnie Viloria said Yucca Valley firefighters were called out three times Sunday to small vegetation fires near the Onaga Elementary School. Viloria said the fires were more the size of garbage fires and didn’t burn any acreage and were put out in about five minutes. However, he added, the cause of the fires is deemed “suspicious,” since he said they weren’t caused by weather. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
