THREE PEOPLE HOSPITALIZED IN TWO OFF-ROAD CRASHES OVER THE WEEKEND

Three people were hospitalized in two separate off-road accidents over Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday morning (May 29), a 56-year-old male lost control of his off-road vehicle near the intersection of Charles Road and Wildey Road in Landers. The man rolled the vehicle around 10 a.m. leaving him with an injury to his arm. The man was treated on scene by Morongo Basin Ambulance, then transported to the intersection of Old Woman Springs Rd and Bodick Road where he was picked up by Mercy Air and flown to the nearest trauma center for further evaluation and care. Then around 9 a.m. Sunday (May 30), an off-road sand buggy overturned in the Sunfair/Coyote Dry Lakebed in Joshua Tree, injuring a 19-year-old male and a 25-year-old female. Both patients were transported by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Regional for treatment.
