THREE PEOPLE HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING TWO-VEHICLE CRASH IN JOSHUA TREE LAST NIGHT

Three people were seriously injured in a head-on collision in Joshua Tree Tuesday night. According to the California Highway Patrol, Raymond Robles, 31, of Yucca Valley, was driving a 1998 red Mercury in the number 1, or fast lane, of eastbound Highway 62 about 8:30 p.m. when he crossed over the center line and collided head on with a 2014 silver Mercury, being driven westbound in the number 1 lane by Jon Kevin Smith Jr, 22, of Joshua Tree. Robles was not wearing his seatbelt, according to the CHP. Robles, Smith, and his passenger, Stacy Woods, 20, also of Joshua Tree, all suffered major injuries and were taken to Desert Regional Medical center in Palm Springs. The CHP is investigating the crash.
