Three people were arrested in Desert Hot Springs Wednesday following a report of a man loitering near a business with a rifle. According to a police report, an employee in the 17000 block of Palm Avenue reported that a man with a rifle was seen behind the business early Tuesday morning. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived, but police were given a description of the man and his vehicle. On Wednesday, officers saw the vehicle on Palm Drive, and followed it to a storage unit, where they contacted Erik Ford, 46, Natisha Noel, 39, and Jeremy Cantorna, 33. Officers determined they were all on probation and Ford and Cantorna had warrants for their arrest. During a search of the location, officers located a loaded AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, which had been reported stolen in a residential burglary earlier this year, along with a second rifle and ammunition. Erik Ford and Natisha Noel were arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property. Ford was also arrested for investigation of resisting arrest. Jeremy Cantorna was arrested and booked on his misdemeanor warrant and released.
