THREE LOCAL STUDENTS ATTEND YOUNG LEADERS CONFERENCE

Three local students in the Morongo Unified School District recently represented Yucca Valley at the National Young Leader’s State Conference in Irvine. Chanda-Lyn Fraschetti has the story…

The National Young Leader’s State Conference is a leadership development program in 30 cities across the country. Recently promoted sixth grade students from Onaga Elementary, Zoie Gianforte, Caelan Fraschetti, and Madison Tuttle were chosen by their teacher, Heather Possehl to represent the school. Mrs. Possehl says, “I nominated these three students, who each display strengths in various fields of leadership.” Gianforte, Fraschetti, and Tuttle have all been involved in one or more school activities such as Dean’s List recipients, GATE, student leadership, and school plays. The four-day conference showed the students how to build a working “toolkit” of strategies to help them successfully dream, create, and implement plans that will change how they view their role as leaders in the community. Upon the completion of the conference, the three students were invited to attend the Junior NYLSC in Washington, D.C., in the fall. Great job on all of your hard work!
