THREE LINKED TO LOCAL DRUG OVERDOSES ARRESTED IN YUCCA VALLEY

Three residents of the Low Desert were arrested in Yucca Valley, accused of selling drugs that have been linked to several overdose deaths in the Morongo Basin. About 4:45 p.m. Saturday, deputies were called to the Yucca Valley Pizza Hut restaurant for a report of trespassing. Inside a vehicle in the parking lot were Trevor Garrison, 26, of Desert Hot Springs, Adam Navarez, 31, and Brittany Lawson, 32, both of Palm Springs. Garrison was on felony probation in Riverside County for burglary and had an active warrant for his arrest. During a search of the vehicle, deputies found more than 3 ½ ounces of methamphetamine, as well as Xanax, and 800 counterfeit Oxycodone pills that had been laced with fentanyl, all packaged for sales. The driver, Trevor Garrison, was arrested for possession and transportation of a controlled substance for sales, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $75,000.

The passengers, Adam Navarez and Brittany Lawson, were arrested on suspicion of possession and transportation of a controlled substance for sales and bringing narcotics into a jail facility. Navarez and Lawson were booked into the West Valley Detention Center with their bail set at $100,000 each.

Deputies urge residents to call 760-366-4175 if they know of or suspect anyone of being involved in the sales or possession of similar counterfeit narcotics, as these drugs have been linked to several recent overdose deaths in the Morongo Basin.
