THREE JOSHUA TREES STOLEN FROM REMEMBRANCE PARK IN YUCCA VALLEY

Another hole where a Joshua tree was stolen.

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the theft of three Joshua trees from Remembrance (Triangle) Park in Yucca Valley. Town staff noticed the trees were missing from the park in the 56000 block of 29 Palms Highway about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The thieves also broke irrigation pipes to the trees.

A witness said a tractor with a tree spade was seen in the park last week and distinct tire impressions were found in the park. Town staff estimated the cost to replace the trees at $3500. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.

The skip loader/tree spade drove in and out of the park via this entrance on to the road.
