Three people were injured in a two-car crash in Yucca Valley Saturday evening. About 6:10 p.m., a woman driving northbound on Old Woman Springs Road crossed over into the southbound lanes near El Cortez Road and collided head on with a vehicle with two men who were traveling southbound. Both of the four-door sedans had major damage and the car containing the woman ended up off the roadway. The female victim, identified only as being in her 20s, was trapped in one car with major injuries and firefighters extricated her using the Jaws of Life in less than 10 minutes. She was transported by Mercy Air to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. Two men in their 30s were extricated by firefighters in about 15 minutes. One had a head injury; the other had leg injuries. They were taken by county ambulance to Desert Hospital.
