Three residents of Twentynine Palms have answered the County’s call for candidates to run for two positions on the Twentynine Palms Water board. Reporter Andrew Dieleman introduces us to the candidates…
Incumbent and current Twentynine Palms Water board president Carol Giannini has been a resident of Twentynine Palms since 1981, and has 12 years of service with the Twentynine Palms Fire Department and served as a paramedic for nearly 30 years. Incumbent Neal Stephenson was appointed in March to fill the vacant seat left by the resignation of director Kerron “Sam” Moore. Stephenson, a resident of Twentynine Palms since 1991, has 20 years of service with the Riverside County Fire Department. Finally, Twentynine Palms resident Michael Arthur, who was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center from 2009 to 2015, moved back to Twentynine Palms in 2018 and works as a safety officer in maintenance and construction work at the Combat Center.
The two vacant board positions will be filled through San Bernardino County’s upcoming 2019 consolidated mail ballot election on August 27.
