THREE ARRESTED WITH DRUGS AND WEAPONS IN TWO INCIDENTS

Two Yucca Valley men were arrested Wednesday following a routine traffic stop. About 3:15 p.m., a deputy stopped a car near Onaga Trail and Church Street in Yucca Valley for having an obstructed license plate. During the traffic stop, the deputy determined that Steven Komorowski, 27, and Jeffrey Smith, 23, were both under the influence of a controlled substance. During a search, the deputy found heroin and methamphetamine packaged for sales, as well as drug paraphernalia. Steven Komorowski was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, cited and released. Jeffrey Smith was arrested for investigation of heroin for sales, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.

A Yucca Valley man who was walking down a dirt road carrying a machete and knife was arrested Wednesday. According to a Sheriff’s report, Christian Usher, 24, was carrying a machete while he was walking down a dirt road near Palm Avenue and Desert Sky Drive about 9 a.m. When a deputy stopped Usher, he discovered Usher also had a “K-bar” style knife concealed in his waistband, as well heroin. Christian Usher was arrested for investigation of carrying a dirk or dagger, and for a previous burglary case. Usher was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
