THREE ARRESTED IN SHOULDER TAP STING

Three men were arrested Saturday, following a Sheriff’s shoulder-tap sting operation. Minors, under the supervision of Sheriff’s deputies, visited eight stores where alcohol is sold in the Morongo Basin Saturday and asked 67 adults to buy alcohol for them. James Sheffield, 31, of Yucca Valley, was arrested for investigation of furnishing alcohol to a minor, cited and released. Deneil Washington, 24, of Yucca Valley, was also arrested on suspicion of furnishing alcohol to a minor, and for an outstanding warrant. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held without bail due to his warrant. Tyler Cobb, 20, of Twentynine Palms, was arrested for petty theft after he walked away with the money given to him by the minor decoy. Tyler Cobb was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, cited, and released.
