THREE ARRESTED AFTER PEDESTRIAN CHECK IN YUCCA VALLEY

A Sheriff’s deputy who made a pedestrian check on three Joshua Tree residents who were walking in a Yucca Valley neighborhood arrested them on various charges and warrants Wednesday. According to a Sheriff’s report, the deputy stopped Gennifer Horn, 46, Michael Massey, 25, and Daniel Hernandez, 26, who were walking near Ventura Avenue and Pinon Drive about 10:15 a.m. A records check determined that Horn had an outstanding warrant for a false vehicle registration. Her car was located nearby, and during a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a four-inch knife and nunchuks. Hernandez admitted the knife and nunchucks were his. The deputy searched Massey and found a 12-inch knife under his shirt. Michael Massey was arrested for investigation of possession of a dirk or dagger, and on warrants for burglary and drug charges. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $290,000. Daniel Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of possession of a dirk or dagger and possession of nunchucks, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $25,000. Gennifer Horn was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and released on $25,000 bail.
