Threat to Yucca Valley HS investigated, student in county lockup

A threat made to Yucca Valley High School’s campus and students ended with one student in county lockup.

Yesterday (September 27), officials from the Morongo Unified School District report Yucca Valley School Site administration was made aware of a student who had made threats against the campus.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was immediately notified, and deputies from the Morongo Basin Station began an investigation that led them to the student’s home. Deputies determined the student had no direct access to weapons to carry out the threat.

The MUSD reports that as of this morning (September 28) the student has been suspended pending further administrative action. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the student is currently being held at West Valley Detention Center.

The MUSD said that, during Wednesday’s investigation, there were no imminent threats to the campus.
