THREATENING NEIGHBOR WITH A GUN RESULTS IN ARREST FOR JOSHUA TREE MAN

A Joshua Tree man was arrested after he allegedly threatened a neighbor with a gun. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 60800 block of Division Street in Joshua Tree about 11:30 p.m. because a man said his neighbor, Frank Nicholson, 68, pointed a gun at him. The victim, Bobby Collins, 31, said he was talking with a friend outside on his porch when Nicholson confronted them and said they were talking too loudly. The men began arguing, and then Nicholson went back in his apartment and came back out with a .38-caliber revolver. Collins told deputies that Nicholson pointed the gun at him and asked him if he wanted to die. A witness corroborated Collins’ version of events. Frank Nicholson was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
