THREAT OF A YUCCA VALLEY BANK ROBBERY GETS AN ARREST

A 45-year-old woman who was angry that her bank wouldn’t replace her stolen credit card was arrested Monday morning after she threatened to rob the bank. According to Sheriff’s Deputy Adrian Garcia, Royal Fahrner went into the US Bank in Yucca Valley about 10 a.m. to request a replacement for her stolen credit card. When bank employees could not replace her card, Fahrner, with a pack on her shoulder, walked to the center of the bank, raised both of her hands over her head, pointed her fingers as pistols and said, “Everyone down, this is a robbery.” Bank employees called 911, and Fahrner fled. Deputies located her at the Vons grocery store, where she was taken into custody without incident. Royal Fahrner was arrested for investigation of attempted robbery, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $30,000.
