THOUSANDS OF RESIDENTS LOSE CELL PHONE SERVICE

Thousands of residents in Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms were without cell phone service Monday. Customers with Verizon and AT&T said they lost their signal about 2 p.m. Monday. A spokeswoman with AT&T said a cut line was responsible for the lack of service. Most residents had cell phone signal again this morning. In the lower desert, residents are without wireless 911 service as well. It’s unclear if the two issues are connected.
