THOUSAND PALMS MAN ARRESTED IN YUCCA VALLEY ACCUSED OF STRONG ARM ROBBERY

A Thousand Palms Man was arrested Saturday (June 26) accused of strong arm robbery after stealing beer and punching a gas station attendant in the face. According to Sheriff’s reports, a suspect, later identified as Everado Calvillo, 31 of Thousand Palms, arrived at the Flyers Convenience store as a passenger in his girlfriend’s vehicle around 10:30 p.m. Calvillo attempted to purchase a case of beer, but when his credit card was declined, he took the beer without paying. The cashier followed Calvillo out of the business, taking a picture of the vehicle and ordering him to return the beer. Calvillo approached the cashier and punched them twice in the lip before fleeing the business, running southbound on Church Street. The cashier reported their injuries, including facial bleeding and chipped teeth, to the deputies. Around 12:30 a.m. (June 27), Deputies located Calvillo’s girlfriend’s vehicle at a residence in the 7600 block of Church Street in Yucca Valley. Deputies located Calvillo hiding in a closet at the residence. Everado Calvillo was arrested for investigation of strong arm robbery and was booked into the West Valley Detention center with his bail set at $100,000.
