Joshua Tree National Park officials have extended the closure of Key’s View area inside the park due to an excessive number of bees at the overlook. Bees need a water to cool their hives during the hot summer months. They will pester visitors for their water bottles, the condensation from their vehicle air conditioners and even their sweat. Park staff are hopeful that this temporary closure will reduce water available for the bees and persuade them to leave the area. The overlook will be closed until further notice.
