THIRD OF JULY FIREWORKS PLANNED IN LANDERS

The public is invited to Landers big 2016 July 3rd Independence Day celebration and fireworks spectacular at Homestead Valley Park this Sunday. Admission is free and activities include live entertainment from “On Tapp,” Marine Corps Color Guard and military vehicle display, a bounce house, beer garden, shaved ice, kettle corn, hot dogs and hamburgers, arm wrestling contest, face painting, community groups, souvenirs, and a spectacular display of up-close fireworks. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. Grand finale fireworks spectacular just after 9 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, family, and friends, but leave outside food and drinks, coolers and pets at home; they’re not allowed at the event. Homestead Valley Park is at 1501 Belfield Blvd. in Landers. VIP parking available for $5 or plenty of free on street parking access. Donations and vendor applications are still being accepted and volunteers are still needed; call 760-333-2707.
