THIRD “BLACK LIVES MATTER” SIGN STOLEN IN YUCCA VALLEY

Eight weeks after two Black Lives Matter signs were vandalized and stolen in Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley, a third Black Lives Matter sign was stolen in Yucca Valley. The temporary sign had been placed with permission on private property earlier this week at the top of the Yucca Grade on the west end of Yucca Valley. On Tuesday about 3:20 p.m., surveillance video shows a man walking up the berm from the highway and ripping the sign off its posts and then walking away with the sign.

On July 9, the first Black Lives Matter sign, that had been installed along the highway in downtown Joshua Tree, had been spray-painted with the word “HATE,” and white supremacist literature distributed at nearby businesses. On July 18, the first sign on the Yucca Grade was stolen.

Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
