THIRD ARMED ROBBERY IN THREE WEEKS IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

We have very limited information about a third business that was robbed at gunpoint in Twentynine Palms in the last three weeks. Sheriff’s detectives are still investigating the armed robbery, which happened at a check cashing business in the 73700 block of 29 Palms Highway, near Adobe Road and the highway, about 5:15 Tuesday evening. Witnesses said the man grabbed the clerk, threatened her with the gun, and demanded cash, and was upset about how little cash there was on site. The suspect is a black man, wearing a gray hoodie with a blue star on the chest, and blue scrub-style pants. On February 17 and 22, a liquor store in the Historic Plaza, and a smoke shop on Adobe Road, were robbed by a black man with a handgun, who demanded cash from the store clerks, and then fled. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
