If you enjoy local music, appreciate craft beer and homemade chili, and want to spend some family time where kids enter free and activities are plentiful, then the third annual Mesa Fest this Saturday is for you. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has your invitation…
The third annual Mesa Fest will rock the Mesa Saturday, September 22, from noon to 9:30 p.m. at the Yucca Mesa Community Center on Balsa Avenue in Yucca Mesa. Mesa Fest is a family-oriented fundraiser with the aim of bringing the first playground to the area. Mesa Fest features five food vendors and a chili cook-off, a beer garden with more than 30 home brews on tap, plus a bounce house, miniature golf, rock wall, food and more than 40 craft, art and retail vendors. Kids 12 and under are free; all others pay $5 entry. A variety of tickets and packages are available for chili tasting and voting, and beer sampling. Information and discount advance tickets are available at mesafest.org.
