THERE IS A TEDDY BEAR WALKING THROUGH THE MORONGO BASIN, WE’LL TELL YOU WHY

Residents in Morongo Valley and Yucca Valley were treated to a peculiar sight yesterday, a man in a teddy bear suit walking up both the Morongo and Yucca grades and into town. Reporter Cassidy Taylor has more on the man behind the costume…

His real name is Jesse Larios, a 33-year-old California native, but you can call him Bearsun. His mission? To walk all the way from San Diego to Las Vegas. He started at the beginning of May and is making great progress if he is already in the Morongo Basin. If you are wondering why a man is walking over 300 miles, the answer is charity! This isn’t Bearsun’s first walk and with a large social media following, his goal now is to raise money for the National Foundation of Autism Research, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of innovative treatment programs and services that improve the quality of life for children with autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

The GoFundMe already has over $3,500 in donations and isn’t slowing down, and neither is Bearsun who is expected to be seen walking through Joshua Tree on Tuesday morning. So far, Bearsun is in great spirits, enjoying his walk and the smiles he brings to those who see him. You can follow his journey on Instagram at @iambearsun.
