Tonight is the closing night for two productions in the Morongo Basin: “The Perils of Goldilocks” at Theatre 29, and “Steel Magnolias” at St. Joseph of Arimathea Church in Yucca Valley. “Goldilocks,” directed by John Wright with Lizzie Schmelling as assistant director, is two one-act plays. The first act is a comic spin on the classic fairy tale. The second act is “Goldilocks on Trial.” The final performance is 7 p.m. tonight at Theatre 29 in Twentynine Palms. Tickets are $8 to $12. “Steel Magnolias” follows the lives of five women in the South who meet regularly in a beauty shop. The all-female cast is directed by Rebecca Havely, who also portrays beauty shop owner Truvy. Also featured are Annalisa Pilecki, Marty Neider, Tara Henkel, and Carol Snyder. Tonight’s final performance is at 7 p.m. at Rusack Hall at St. Joseph of Arimathea Church in Yucca Valley.
