The Theatre 29 Summer Youth Theater program will present “Mary Poppins Jr.” this summer. The youth program runs Mondays through Fridays from June 25 through July 29. “Juniors” aged 7 to 11 years old meet from 10 to 12 daily, and “Seniors,” age 12 to 17, have class from 1 to 3. The program teaches a wide variety of theatrical skills from auditioning to performing, plus back stage skills such as set construction, costuming and props, lights and sound and much more. The program culminates with performances of “Mary Poppins Jr.” from July 27-29. The application deadline is June 15 and payment in full is due by June 22. The cost is $60 per student some scholarships are available. Applications are available at theatre29.org, the Twentynine Palms Park and Recreation offices, the Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley Chambers of Commerce, and the Z107.7 studios in Joshua Tree.
