THEATRE 29 UNVEILS ITS 2020 SEASON

Theater supporters from throughout the Morongo Basin were joined by business, government, and community leaders at a standing-room-only event last Wednesday night at Theatre 29. The 2020 season was revealed to the enthusiastic crowd. With the season line-up, here’s reporter Rebecca Havely…

The City of Twentynine Palms and the Yucca Valley Chamber shared upcoming events in both communities at the Theatre 29 Season reveal event. Seven main stage productions were chosen. The first is a special run of “Company B,” a tribute to the golden age of radio directed by Ben Costello. Next up is the musical comedy “Sister Act,” with director Scott Clinkscales, followed by a classic family favorite, “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe;” Char Childs will direct. The rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar” will be directed by Charles Harvey, and the screwball comedy, “You Can’t Take It With You,” directed by Lisa Goldberg. Director Gary Daigneault will helm the side-splitting musical comedy “Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.” And finally, the captivating musical “Matilda” will be directed by Kathryn Ferguson. The season also includes the Summer Youth Theater Program, the musical revue fundraiser “Mis-Cast” and several improv comedy performances.
