Open auditions for “Disney’s Mary Poppins take place on Monday, January 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Theatre 29. The roles being cast include: Mary Poppins, the magical new nanny; Mary’s friend, Bert the chimney sweep; The Banks’ family includes Mr. George Banks, Mrs. Winifred Banks, and the children Michael and Jane, who must look 9 to 11 years old. The Banks’ staff includes Katie Nanna; Mrs. Brill, the cook; Robertson, the boot man; and Miss Andrew, a former nanny. Other neighborhood characters include: Admiral Boom; Mrs. Corry, a shop owner; Neleus, a live statue in the park; the park keeper; the neighbor, Miss Lark; and the Bird Woman, who sells bags of crumbs for the pigeons. Please prepare 32 bars of a Broadway style song, no pop music please. Provide background music on an electronic device or on a CD. Dress to move, tap experience a plus.
