Theatre 29 is holding auditions for the musical, “Once Upon A Mattress”. Director Kathryn Ferguson is seeking a cast of 25 to 30 singers. With all the audition details here’s Rebecca Havely…
“Once Upon A Mattress” principal roles include: Princess Winnifred; she has a strong belt voice and good comedic timing; Prince Dauntless, who needs good mime and improv skills; the loud and stubborn Queen Aggravian and her lady-in-waiting, Lady Larken, who is pregnant and madly in love; Sir Harry, a macho but romantic knight. The Wizard is an egotistical henchman to the Queen, and the Minstrel narrates the story. The Jester is energetic and peppy; the Nightingale is a child 10 or older who sings and whistles. Plus, there is a large ensemble of additional characters. Auditions are set for Sunday, September 29 at 5 p.m. Come ready to dance; prepare 16 bars of a show tune and bring a non-vocal backing track on your mobile device.
