Theatre 29 is casting the deviously delicious “Little Shop of Horrors,” an off-Broadway and Hollywood musical smash hit. Rebecca Havely shares the audition details…
The “Little Shop of Horrors” cast of characters includes Mr. Mushnik, the owner of a failing New York City flower shop; a trio of doo-wop singers Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon, who are young, hip, street-smart urchins; florist clerk Seymore Krelborn, insecure, but well-meaning. Shop receptionist Audrey is bleached blond and good looking with a strong belt voice. Audrey’s boyfriend Orin Scrivello is a sadistic dentist. The man-eating plant named “Audrey 2” has a funky rhythm and blues voice. Director Gary Daigneault will hold auditions at Theatre 29 on Monday, August 12 at 6 p.m.
Those auditioning should bring a karaoke non-vocal backing track of a Broadway show tune on your mobile device; and dress prepared to move. “Little Shop of Horrors” will run weekends from October 4 through 27 at Theatre 29, and November 2 and 3 at the Barstow Performing Arts Center.
