Theatre 29 in Twentynine Palms recently installed new carpeting thanks to grants it received from a military charity and from a civilian business. Despite regular cleaning and maintenance, the theater’s carpeting had deteriorated to the point that it was literally wearing through to the cement floor in some areas. Due to grants the theater received from the Twentynine Palms Officers’ Spouses’ Club and U.S. Bank, new carpeting was installed this summer by Quality Tile and Carpet. The theater’s board of directors chose to carpet its lobby and theater area using 2-foot-squares of carpet so if it gets soiled, the square can easily be replaced, and the theater bought 50 extra squares to use as replacements. Theatre 29 Board President Gary Daigneault was very grateful for the financial support that allowed the theater to recarpet the theater. “This significant support for Theatre 29 by both donors really accentuates the remarkably cooperative relationship between the military and civilian communities of the Morongo Basin.”
