The Theatre 29 Board of Directors met to discuss reopening in the wake of stay-at-home orders loosening. Rebecca Havely has the results of that special session…
The Theatre 29 Board of Directors, with direction from the City of Twentynine Palms and the “Summer Camps” requirements from the State Department of Public Health and the CDC, determined it could not continue with plans for the summer youth theatre program for 2020. The board also discussed the “Stage 4” reopening of live-theater venues and decided to postpone the rest of the 2020 season pending more clarification. Season ticket holders may receive a pro-rated refund, use credits towards future productions, or donate their balance towards maintenance of the theater while it is closed. The Theatre 29 Board of Directors regrets having to take these steps but recognizes that the top priority is the health and safety of the theater’s patrons, volunteers, and the community.
