THEATRE 29 OPENS 20TH SEASON WITH A COMEDY; SOROPTIMISTS TO HOST

The gala opening-night fundraiser for “A Bad Year for Tomatoes” will have doors opening at 6 p.m. for pre-show hors d’oeuvres and silent auction bidding. The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. Desserts will be served at intermission. Tickets for opening night only are $25 each and will benefit Soroptimist International. Tickets are available through local Soroptimist members and at the Z107.7 studios on Hallee Road in Joshua Tree. This comedy is the first of Theatre 29’s “Best Of” Season celebrating favorite past productions. It features Janet Peercy, Kevin Myers, Courtney Cooper, Brandy Hazel, Hope Spicer, Morgan Pennington and Earl Childs. Director Char Childs has Butch Pelfrey working with her as assistant director; he directed the first production of the comedy at Theatre 29.
“A Bad Year for Tomatoes” will run weekends from January 11 to 27 Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2:30 at the regular ticket prices of $10 to $15. For tickets visit theatre29.org or call 760-361-4151.
