The pivotal character of famous actress Myra Marlowe will be played by Janet Peercy. Her two nosy neighbors, Cora Gump and Reba Harper are played by Courtney Cooper and Brandy Hazel. Hope Spicer will play Willa Mae Wilcox, a new-age hippie witch; Earl Childs will play Piney, a local hick, manure salesman. Kevin Myers will play Myra’s agent Tom Lamont and Morgan Pennington plays the local the Sheriff. Director Char Child’s has Butch Pelfrey as her assistant director; he directed the first production of the comedy at Theatre 29.
“A Bad Year for Tomatoes” will run weekends from January 11 through 27; Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2:30. Tickets are $10 to $15 and are available at theatre29.org or by calling 760-361-4151.
