THEATRE 29 ADDS OVERFLOW SEATING TO SOLD OUT “DISNEY’S LITTLE MERMAID”

In a remarkable phenomenon, “Disney’s Little Mermaid” has sold out all available online seats prior to its opening tonight, March 11. Overflow seating has been added on a first come-first served basis. Reporter Rebecca Havely explains how this works…
The extraordinary demand for “Disney’s Little Mermaid,” directed by Gary Daigneault, with musical director Ed Will, choreographer Mandi Pushkar, and spectacular costuming by Kathryn Ferguson, echoes its success on the Broadway stage. Never before at Theatre 29 has an entire run of a show sold out prior to its opening night. The entire 5-week run of “Disney’s Little Mermaid” has every online seat booked, including its added third matinee. To accommodate some who still hope to get a chance to see the show, overflow seating has been added for each performance. For those willing to take a chance, arrive at the theater box office about a half hour before curtain, 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, or 2 p.m. for the Sunday matinees. You will be placed on “overflow seating” list in order of arrival. While there is no guarantee a seat will be available, this arrangement will add about 20 additional seats per performance.
“Disney’s Little Mermaid” will run weekends at Theater 29 from March 11 through April 9; Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m., with 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinees March 13, March 20, and April 9. Tickets are $15 for regular admission, $12 for seniors and military and $10 for children under twelve and students with ID.
