Theatre 29 will end its 2018 season with the happy, family Broadway musical “Annie.” Rebecca Havely has all the audition details…
Men, women and children are sought by director Kathryn Ferguson for the cast of “Annie” at Theatre 29. Little orphan Annie is a spunky, big-voiced
girl age 10 to 12. There’s the warm-hearted billionaire Daddy Warbucks and his faithful secretary, the graceful Grace Farrell. Several young girls
ages 6 to 13 are needed to play Annie’s gritty gang of orphan girlfriends, many with featured roles. Miss Hannigan is the bitter, sometimes intoxicated, orphanage matron. Her slick con-man brother Rooster and his girlfriend Lily plot to use Annie to get to Warbucks’ fortune. Also being cast are Bert Healy, a 30s-era radio personality, and President Roosevelt. Dancers and singers will also be cast, several in featured roles, to fill out the ensemble. Auditions at Theatre 29 are Sunday, September 30 at 5 p.m. Come prepared to move, read from provided scripts and prepare 16 bars of a Broadway show tune. Bring a non-vocal, karaoke track along on your mobile device.
If you’re interested in technical assistance such as set building, costume construction or helping back stage, please attend auditions. “Annie” will run weekends November 23 through December 16. For tickets visit theatre29.org.
