Theater 29 is holding open auditions for the smash hit musical comedy “The Addams Family.” Reporter Rebecca Havely tells you how to prepare…
Veteran director Kathryn Ferguson is seeking performers for the musical, “The Addams Family.” The story of the familiar family has an original twist: Wednesday wants to get married. The cast includes Gomez, a proud father of Spanish descent; a tenor age 40 to 60. The leggy vixen, Morticia is 30 to 50, a strong dancer with dry wit. Wednesday is 18 to 25 with a strong pop belt. Her fiancé Lucas is a pop tenor age 18 to 25. Pugsley is 16 to 20 but plays 12, with a high tenor voice. There’s also Grandma, Uncle Fester and Lurch, plus the new in-laws and a chorus of singer/dancers. Prepare to sing a Broadway show tune and bring a non-vocal backing track cd or a mobile device and speaker. Dress prepared to move. Auditions are Monday, August 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Theater 29.
“The Addams Family” will run five consecutive weekends from October 2 through October 31. Theater 29 is located at 73637 Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms.
