Young and old in and around Yucca Valley are getting into the spirit for Grubstake Days 2019 going on now. Look around, and you’ll see many merchants are also in the spirit. Two, in particular, stand out as winners of this year’s Grubstake Days Business Decorating Contest.
The Scrub Shop, on the highway just west of Airway Medical Center in Yucca Valley easily took first place in the best interior category. Owner Cindy got into the spirit by creating an abandoned mine photo booth inside The Scrub Shop. The mine is complete with dynamite and an authentic 1959 American Flag with just 48 stars.
And taking first place in the best exterior category is This N That Desert Treasures on the highway across from Vons in Yucca Valley. Their storefront display is authentic as well. except for the moonshine.
First place winners receive bragging rights, a very cool plaque, $250 in radio advertising on Z107.7 Radio, and a month’s presence on z1077fm.com, now viewed over 200,000 times per month!
