The 64th annual Grubstake Days Parade was held Saturday at a new route in Yucca Valley. The parade went east on Onaga Trail from Church Street to Sage Avenue. Organizers reported a moderate turnout along the parade route. The Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce released the judged winners of the parade categories.
The Yucca Valley High School Marching Band won first place for a band; Jennie Duval won first place for equestrian, fancy Western, age 16 and over; Ken and Rene Hopkins, first for equestrian, horse-drawn vehicle; Gunfighters for Hire, first for float. Tractor Supply Company won first for motorized; Vintage Iron Antique Tractor Club won first for motorized/novelty; Girl Scout Troops 808 and 804 won first place for Youth.
