THE STIGMA OF MENTAL ILLNESS EXPLORED AT LIFETREE CAFÉ

The stigma of mental illnesses will be explored at Lifetree Café tomorrow, December 17, at 4 p.m. Reporter Andrew Dieleman has the details…

The program, titled “Mental Illness: Breaking the Silence, Overcoming the Shame,” features a filmed interview with Amy Simpson, author of the book “Troubled Minds.” Simpson grew up with a mother who was later diagnosed with schizophrenia. During this program, participants will have an opportunity to discuss why stigmas are commonly attached to mental illnesses and if these stigmas should exist. Admission is free.
