The Special Olympics are coming to Twentynine Palms this spring, and the organizers want you to get involved.
The City of Twentynine Palms is hosting an information meeting this Wednesday (January 29) the community to an exciting and informative session about the Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) and its mission to enrich the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The mission of SOSC is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. These programs offer individuals ongoing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and share gifts, skills, and friendships with their community.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Luckie Park’s Activity Center, located at 74325 Joe Davis Drive, Twentynine Palms
