“The Sandlot” screening at 29 Palms Little League Opener Friday, March 31

At Friday’s (April 1) opening of the Twentynine Palms Little League Season, a long-hoped for special event while occur as the League will screen the motion picture “The Sandlot.”

The event will take place at 6 p.m. at the ballfields at Luckie Park. Little League officials were keen to screen this film immediately after the opening ceremony, but were unable to afford the royalties. The Twentynine Palms Rotary Club stepped up and paid all associated costs and fees for screening the classic youth baseball film for this season’s little league players and their families.

“The Sandlot” helps kick off what is expected to an incredible season of Little League baseball in Twentynine Palms.

The movie screens for free at Luckie Park at 6 p.m. on Friday.
