Boys’ and girls’ basketball teams from Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley placed in the top three in six of the seven age divisions during last weekend’s 60th annual youth basketball tournament. Almost 80 games were played over the course of the three-day tournament on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Twentynine Palms High School and Junior High School, and at Copper Mountain College’s Bell Center. The seventh-eighth grade girls, and eighth grade boys from Twentynine Palms won first place in their age divisions. Twentynine Palms teams also won second place in the third-fourth grade girls’ and third-fourth grade boys’ divisions; and third place in the fifth-sixth grade girls’ division. Yucca Valley’s fifth-sixth grade boys won third place, and seventh-eighth grade girls won second place. In total there were 7 divisions and 33 teams. The results are as follows:
