The cost of water in the Landers area is going up, but not by much. Reporter Mike Lipsitz was at last night’s meeting of the Bighorn Desert View Water Agency board and files this report…
At last night’s meeting of the Bighorn Desert View Water Agency, the board approved a four-year increase in consumption and basic service charges. In year one, rates would rise five percent for basic service and three percent for consumption. The decision followed a public hearing where little resistance to the increase was expressed.
A customer now paying $57.50 per month would pay just $2.28 additional per month. Also last night, the board authorized the general manager to pursue tax liens on delinquent accounts.
