San Bernardino County has seen another jump in novel coronavirus deaths and cases; three more deaths associated with COVID-19 were reported Tuesday, bringing the total to 85. An additional 55 cases also were reported, bringing the case total to 1,827, according to the county’s online dashboard. The numbers of confirmed cases in the Morongo Basin saw a shift with Yucca Valley at 16; Twentynine Palms eight; Morongo Valley with five; and Joshua Tree with four cases and the only two deaths locally. Landers now shows 0.
Fontana has the most cases, at 222; followed by San Bernardino with 209; Yucaipa with 168; Ontario with 127 and Chino with 120.
The bulk of Yucaipa’s cases, 156, were reported at Cedar Mountain Post-Acute Rehabilitation and Calimesa Post Acute, according to the data. Yucaipa also has the most deaths, with 21. However, 19 deaths are associated with the nursing facilities. There have been seven deaths in Upland and Colton, including three and five deaths at nursing facilities, respectively. The county has tested 18,579 people, of which 9.8 percent were positive for COVID-19.
